Notice Description

  RFP for IT Augmentation - Maintenance and Support (RFPOEBITA01162017)

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB or "Board") regulates Ontario's natural gas and electricity industries. The Board also provides advice on energy matters referred to it by the Minister of Energy. The Board's mandate and authority come from the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, the Electricity Act, 1998 and a number of other provincial statutes. The Board reports on administrative matters to the Ontario legislature through the Minister of Energy & Infrastructure, but carries out its functions and responsibilities independently. The Board currently has over 175 staff and appointees.

The IT team of 12 staff members support the Board by building and supporting IT applications needed to operate efficiently.

The Board’s objective is to:
1.    Monitor IT availability and reliability by providing daily monitoring reports
2.    Home office and/or Remote office support as needed for part time board members and community meeting within Ontario
3.    Augment IT support services as needed on site to cover vacation / courses / staff-loss coverage

In order to ensure this objective can be met and sustained in the long term, the Board seeks a vendor to assist the OEB staff to:

1.    Monitor IT availability and reliability by providing daily monitoring reports. Vendor can use OEB SCOM 2012 monitoring reports or have their own tool to monitor as inputs. Reports will need to be analyzed and submitted to the IT team (distribution list) at 7:30am daily.
2.    Home office and/or Remote office support as needed for part time board members and community meeting within Ontario
3.    Augment IT maintenance and support as needed on site, in the following areas below:
a.    Database Server management
b.    Operating System management
c.    Application Server administration
d.    Network administration, routing/switching and Infrastructure Management
e.    Storage (SAN) management
f.    Business applications - Maintain code and integration work between Pivotal and Trim as well as Dynamics GP using dotNet
g.    Disaster Recovery services - Assist with the development, testing and implementation of the Disaster recovery plan consistent with OEB requirements.
